Welcome to A Little Southern Grace. Here’s a little about me:
My name is Madison. My middle name is Grace, hence the blog title!
I’m from a small southern town in Texas. We’ve moved here and there but have always stayed relatively close to where my mom grew up outside of Austin.
We currently live on 60 acres in a house my mom designed, all eight of us (when my brother from college is home). Three girls and three boys, ALMOST alternating.
And, yes, I’m the second oldest despite my younger brother standing beside me and being way taller than I am!
I’ve been homeschooled since first grade, and recently started my college career at Southwestern University. My current plan is to study history and business (or something totally unrelated…). After school, I would love to teach (maybe online) and travel around the US a little.
But I’ll tackle that when I get to it, I suppose. For now, I’m so excited to be moving on to college and can’t wait to get involved at Southwestern while keeping up with my hobbies.
I’ve always loved creative hobbies.
I have dozens of little “books” dating back to 2004, when I was 6 years old. Most of them consisted of one or two pages with plenty of scribbled drawings and very few words!
My first full-length novel came about during NaNoWriMo when I was about 13 years old. After that story, writing unfortunately shifted to the back burner. But every now and then I get a chance to type out a few lines when inspiration strikes.
Besides writing, I love art and hope to continue drawing and painting throughout college.
Recently I’ve grown interested in pursuing these hobbies more seriously, looking into creating a business out of them. I’m a newbie for sure but, hey, practice makes perfect, right?
When I created this blog in 2016, I wanted to have a place to share anything and everything. So expect quite a variety of pictures! To give you an idea, I post family trips, photo shoots, writing tips, life updates, book reviews, and (very soon) college experience/tips.
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy! Be sure to leave me a comment somewhere – I love to hear about my readers 🙂
