mini celebration for #randb

R+B draft 1 is officially finished (free cake, anyone?)! I was so excited the night I typed THE END I felt like editing right then and there. I already had a list of things that needed to be changed, and with alpha comments coming in, I wanted to jump in.

BUT

Everyone I know who writes has said no. That’s not the best thing to do. I definitely don’t want to get burnt out. Thankfully, for the most part, I never got tired of writing R+B.

Sure, it took 7 months because school/other activities (even just relaxing) took priority. And I’m glad they did. Because even if I wasn’t doing anything important, I never disliked writing because I didn’t force myself to push it all out in a few weeks.

So while I’m waiting, here are some goals for the next two weeks to a month until I’m back to writing R+B:

1. Keep writing notes for R+B. I can’t leave it cOmPLEtley alone, sorry. I just won’t touch the finished document.

2. Work on my other goals from the beginning of the year (check out that post here).

3. Start work on another story. YES. Balloons. Confetti. All that jazz. But seriously, I can’t wait to start writing a new book. One more upbeat and fast-paced with bad guys and such.

Here are some ideas that need to at least be plotted, if not drafted:

“Modern.” Top of the list. I’m not really sure where this one is going, but the collage was so much fun to make. Plus, a dream/watching Inception inspired it. So definitely going to be a mind-bending story to plot.

If not the above, then “The Davidson Effect” would be next. Then “The Stone Brothers.” I took down my page with all my book descriptions a while back, so if you’re interested, feel free to check out my Pinterest boards for them! The link to my Pinterest account is in the sidebar. Collages from past posts to give you an idea:

Sorry, totally spamming you guys with links today! I’ve been attempting to get posts out on Saturdays and they usually fall behind since Thursday-Saturday are my busiest times recently. So this is a quick, little post filled with fluff…

Since I’d love to participate in another Camp NaNo, I want to be working on a final draft of R+B for camp in July (MAYBE April, but it’s been crazy busy so we’ll see). I have tons and tons to change, but the goal is to finish R+B by the end of this year.

Random note: The realization hit me that I’ll be twenty this year. TWENTY! That’s like 1/4 of my life. I need to publish before I’m 21 (hence the R+B-finish-this-year goal). I need to have read the entire Bible before I’m 21. I need to visit another country before I’m 21. I need to do A LOT personally before I’m 21.

So maybe those are all wants, but I’m motivated, guys.

But that’s a whole new set of goals you probably don’t want to hear me ramble on about. SO here’s the plan:

Don’t let me touch my precious R+B for two-four weeks. Deal?
