fall photos + NaNoWriMo: the first half

Quick appreciation for my sister: Martha always agrees to go out and explore our property a bit in order to shoot some photos (although sometimes it takes a little…convincing ;)). I’ve been preparing for an upcoming shoot, so she let me snap a billion photos of her to practice editing in Photoshop. YAY MARTHA she doesn’t even have to try to look good!

Although, I still can’t get the skin tones nice and warm for the life of me….do any of you enjoy shooting/have any tips on how to get those perfect golden tones???

I decided to hop in and do NaNoWriMo updates all of November instead of my planned posts! Originally, this was supposed to be “week 1” but it’s been a little busy…SO here is what’s been happening the first half of NaNo 2017.

R+B has been going pretty well so far except I still don’t have a workable title? At one point, Wild Red Moments was going to be the replacement but I’m not too fond of it now. Is it just me or is it impossible to come up with good, original titles? Plus, with this one, the Red doesn’t really make sense.

I really only have a couple of titles that make sense and fit the story and that I like. Eh.

R+B already had 11K words when I started this month, but these are my totals written only during November.

Day 1: 1680

Started off the writing challenge at midnight, but only wrote a couple hundred words before quitting for the night. Honestly, it wasn’t as much as I was hoping since a few other ladies and I were attempting to hit 5K on the first day. A few of them did it!

Day 2: 1364

Day 3: 9765

Day 3 was honestly amazing! It was a Friday which means I was done with my classes by 10:50. So, immediately after class, I whipped up some tea and jumped in bed with my laptop. The chapters came super easily since I had a pretty good outline to start with – thank goodness! I ended up writing the majority of the day.

Days 4-5: 0

This weekend was Homecoming for Southwestern with a square dance Saturday night. Then, my brother and I drove to San Antonio for an air show and spent all day Sunday there. Unfortunately not any writing, but it was totally worth it ha.

Day 6: 561

Day 7: 579

Day 8: 5183

After a couple slow days, I jumped in to a Google Hangout chat and joined some lovely ladies to do writing sprints.

Day 9: 267

Days 10-11: 0

Day 12: 834

Which brings my total for November to 20333 words and my grand total to 31227 words.

I’ve just about hit 100 pages and Chapter Fifteen, which is my halfway mark! This is definitely the most I’ve written since the first NaNo I participated in 2013 (ish).

SO although I’m still a little behind where I was hoping to be, NaNo is going great so far and I can’t wait to FINISH THIS BOOK!

How is November treating you so far? Are you writing a novel or twisting the rules?

It’s totally okay not to have a title right away! NaNoWriMo has definitely been interesting so far; I’ve definitely had a few “0” word days….*cries softly* I’m glad you’re making progress with your book!! Can’t wait to hear more about it. 🙂

Thank goodness! I’m slowly discovering I’m very indecisive when it comes to big things like titles hehe. 0 word days are completely okay!

      Thank you, Erin <3
